Fashion Week Cleveland- Part 1

A nice idea, but not well managed, unfortunately.  I'm surprised the fire department didn't shut it down.

The 5th st Arcade was the venue for this Fashion Week Cleveland event, it is far too narrow for any kind of large gathering.  Were the Event planners underestimating how many people would show up, or was it just a bad idea to begin with?
The "Runway" before the place got crowded...
We all thought the runway was just this area above, and the crowd gathered accordingly.  After all there were no markings in tape or otherwise to show exactly where the runway was supposed to end.  It turned out that it was to extend further on behind this location, and turn the corner into the food court. Now, there are tables with vendors in this area, and people did the best they could to jam themselves up against those tables, but the runway became much more narrow, and anybody trying to get in or out of their seating to get to the restroom or otherwise was yelled at by staff, security, and eventually a CPD officer.

Had I not been so determined to photograph the runway show, I would have left by this point.  I am glad next week's Fashion Show is at the old Arcade, that should be more comfortable for everyone.

The show did (eventually) start, and I have many photos of the unusual outfits, and body art that came down the runway.  Come back to see my next post about that.
